The Community Student Support Centers provide specialized equipment and material for academic tasks.
During 2005, two Multifunctional Support Centers (C@P) were created at the Zacatenco and Santo Tomas units, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and self-learning services.
Counseling services, scholarship granting, and health services contribute to academic performance improvement and successful completion of studies; the Institutional Scholarship System has enrolled almost 63,000 scholarship holders and has integrated the new scholarship programs launched by the Secretariat of Public Education and by the Federal District Government.
Besides featuring access to Social Security (IMSS) healthcare services, the Institute grants students school accident insurance coverage, preventive medicine services, clinics to quit smoking, health education programs, general medicine and specialties in dentistry, optometry, nutrition, and counseling.
The Community Protection Program insures security within the premises so that activities take place in a healthy and productive environment with respect to personal freedom of all community members.
In order to foster professionalization and training of the Institute’s personnel and in order to acknowledge their quality in society, great efforts are made in terms of training and updating; a number of incentive and scholarship programs are available, such as financing for exchanges and participation in a number of academic events both domestic and intenational.
