Links and networking with the productive sector is one of the pillars of the Institute education and research actions. It contributes to foster our students organized participation with the different agents of economic activity. Its aim is to achieve a comprehensive integration of education with the environment. The Institute features centers and units specialized in linkages and networking, that offer programs which enable the strengthening or building of new skills, abilities and an entrepreneurial attitude both in students and alumni with the Institutional Program on Metrology, Testing, Standardization and Industrial Quality, among others.
The Polytechnic Unit for Business Development and Competitiveness is the strategy that brings together institutional strengths in order to transform the Institute into the technological partner of the productive sector contributing to the improvement of organizations competitiveness. During 2008, the Polytechnic Unit for Business Development and
Competitiveness and the Business Incubator Center developed 467 entrepreneurial projects, 104 business graduated and 140 were incubated; such set of companies generated 876 jobs and 16 mark registers in 2008, among other outcomes.
